Don't see the option to credit an invoice in Payt? You are probably not using the declarations module. In that case, you can process the credit in your accounting package. At the next import, this will be offset against the outstanding invoices.
How do I process the credit in Payt?
Locate the invoice in Payt and click 'Actions' > 'Crediting' in the top right.
You will see an overview of the declaration. Decide what you want to credit: specific lines, a specific amount, or both.
Check which lines you want to credit and indicate whether the credit is for the patient, the health insurer, or both.
Want to credit a specific amount instead of full service lines? Enter the desired credit amount on the CC01 line.
At the bottom, click 'Credit treatments' and confirm the credit.
Tip: If you do not see the button 'Credit treatments' this declaration has most likely not been invoiced yet, or the invoice has already been credited.
When will I see the credit note in Payt?
After crediting, the credit note is created at the next import. If the patient has already paid, the credit note for the patient will remain outstanding. You can refund the amount yourself with the invoice number in the description.
Is the original invoice corrected after crediting?
The original invoice is not automatically adjusted after crediting. A credit note will be created that can be sent to the patient.
Want to fully correct the invoice? Credit the entire declaration and resubmit it to Payt with the correct details. A new invoice will then be created.
What do I need to do in my practice software?
Once you have processed the credit in Payt, it is in some cases important to also process it in your practice software. This ensures that the credit is fully and correctly processed.
