How do I connect Exact Online to Payt?

To connect Payt to Exact Online, you need a connection user with the correct permissions. This article explains how to set this up and how to give Payt access to your administrations.

Updated this week

To connect Payt to Exact Online, a connection user is required. This is a user in Exact Online with the correct permissions, who can log in to Exact Online from Payt to provide access to the environment.

Required permissions for the connection user

The connection user needs at least the following permissions in Exact Online:

  • General

    • Create, update and delete documents

  • Financial

    • Enter, edit and delete bank entries

    • View general ledger reports

    • View relations

    • View financial master data

  • Sales

    • Process and print invoices

Setting permissions in Exact Online

To change a user's permissions in Exact Online:

  1. Open your Exact Online administration.

  2. Go to 'Master data'.

  3. Select 'Users | Overview'.

  4. Select the user whose permissions you want to change.

  5. Select 'Permissions' (right-hand side of the screen) and adjust the relevant permissions.

Giving Payt access to all Exact Online administrations

Only seeing one administration when connecting, while you have multiple in Exact Online? Then Payt does not yet have access to all administrations. Here's how to fix this:

  1. Go to your account settings in the top right of Exact Online.

  2. Open the 'Security Centre'.

  3. Give Payt access to all current and future administrations, or make your own selection of the administrations you want to connect.

After saving, Payt will be able to retrieve the correct administrations.
